The Magnificent Seven
The Magnificent Seven(1960) were not traditional good guys but a mixed group of anti heroes bound together to go up against an adversary who was both cruel and ruthless.
Based on an original Japanese film, ‘The Seven Samurai’, director John Sturges, a well-established ‘Western’ film maker helmed the movie. Among the great titles Sturges had already made included ‘Bad Day At Black Rock’ (1955) and ‘Gunfight At The Ok Corral’ (1957).
In January 1960, the director began assembling his talented cast led by Yul Brynner, followed by emerging star Steve McQueen and the TV actor, Robert Vaughn who in turn also suggested a young James Coburn. Sturges himself added Charles Bronson who had appeared in two of his previous movies.
Yet another experienced TV actor, Brad Dexter was added to the cast alongside a popular young German actor, Horst Bucholz playing the youngest gunfighter of ‘The Seven’.
Filming took place in Cuernavaca, Mexico and virtually all of the supporting players were Mexican except for the Bandit Chief ‘Calvera’ played by the celebrated American character actor, Eli Wallach.
On location in Mexico, one large main set of a small farming village, church and main square were built. In nearby Durango another major set was constructed of the town on the Tex / Mex border where ‘The Seven’ were originally hired to help defend the Mexican peasants against the local banditos.
I remember seeing this great movie when it first came out around 1960 or maybe 1961 by the time it reached Scotland. At the age of 12 this film had everything I liked in an action flick… lots of gunfights, plenty of ‘goodies ‘n’ baddies’ a great stirring movie music them by Elmer Bernstein and… NO SLOPPY KISSING or LOVE SCENES!
Since that time I have viewed this magnificent movie many, many times and enjoyed it more and more with each viewing.
This unique Seven-Figure Boxed Set is my (and K&C’s) tribute in 1:30 scale miniature to one of the finest and most enjoyable ‘Westerns’ ever made and a very worthy addition to King & Country’s ‘THE REAL WEST’ series.

Market Garden
This past September marked the 80th Anniversary of one of the most famous battles of WW2…The doomed attempt by the British 1st Airborne Division to capture the famous road bridge over the Lower Rhine at the Dutch city of ARNHEM.
This was part of Operation Market Garden, devised by Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery, to seize a series of major bridges and secure a road route for the British XXX Corps to advance up through occupied Holland and open a direct front into The Ruhr, Nazi Germany’s industrial heartland.
If successful, Montgomery believed the war might be over Christmas 1944.
Unfortunately, the plan fell apart in Arnhem.

Falklands War
A 3-man squad of Argentinean soldiers open fire on advancing British Paras. Both armies in this conflict used almost the same assault rifle... the British SLR (Self Loading Rifle) and the Argentinean FAL, both derived from the original Belgian designed FN Assault Rifle that fired an identical 7.62mm round. The only major difference was that the enemy rifles had the ability to fire 'Full Auto' while the British believed in 'every round an aimed round' i.e. that is to say, single shot automatic. At the end of the day what really mattered was the quality of the soldier behind the weapon not the weapon itself. Our trio of enemy soldiers are bravely putting up a defence as best they can in a difficult situation. All are dressed in standard Argentine Cold weather 'Parka' jackets originally designed for and by the Israeli Defence Forces. The helmets are standard U.S. M1 steel pots with camouflage covers. On the helmets themselves each soldier has a pair of protective goggles. Each soldier has the standard black leather fighting order and ammunition pouches alongside a water bottle and entrenching tool plus a rifle bayonet and scabbard. Completing the dress of each soldier are a pair of olive drab trousers in a similar shade to the 'Parka' with a patch pocket on each side of the trousers. On their feet are standard issue black leather combat boots. Of special note is a small Argentinean flag patch on the upper left arm of each soldier. As seen here all three soldiers are in various shooting positions and will look great in any trench, on the ground or even behind a rock 'sangar' defence work

Enemies of Rome
Scutarius
The Scutarius were well armoured heavy infantry, and the Celtibarians were mainly from the north, and were heavily influenced by their Gallic neighbours. Those who fought with Hannibal would have been mercenaries, and in organization and military effectiveness would have been much the same as the Gauls. They were known to be fierce, independent and dangerous.

Gold Rush
A gold rush or gold fever is a discovery of gold that brings an onrush of miners seeking their fortune.Major gold rushes took place in the 19th century in the United States, Canada, Australia, Greece, New Zealand, Brazil, Chile, and South Africa. Gold rushes were typically marked by a general buoyant feeling of a “free for all”, in which any single individual might become abundantly wealthy almost instantly, as expressed in the California Dream! Gold rushes helped spur waves of immigration that often led to the permanent settlement of new regions. Activities propelled by gold rushes define significant aspects of the culture of the Australian and North American frontiers. At a time when the world’s money supply was based on gold, the newly mined gold provided economic stimulus far beyond the goldfields, feeding into local and wider economic booms.
The California Gold Rush of 1848-1855 in the Sierra Nevada captured the popular imagination, and led to an influx of gold miners, which led to California’s rapid industrialization, as businesses sprung up to serve the increased population and financial institutions to handle the increased wealth. One of these political institutions was statehood; the need for new laws in a sparsely governed land led to the state’s rapid entry into the Union in 1850. Various gold rushes occurred in Australia over the second half of the 19th Century. The most significant of these although not the only ones, were the New South Wales gold rush and Victorian gold rush in 1851, and the Western Australia gold rushes of the 1890’s.
These were highly significant to their respective colonies political and economic development as they brought many immigrants, and promoted massive government spending on infrastructure to support the new arrivals who came looking for gold. While some found their fortune, those who did not often remained in the colonies and took advantage of extremely liberal land laws to take up farming. One of the last “great gold rushes” was the Klondike gold rush in the Yukon Territory in 1896 – 1899. This gold rush is featured in the novels of Jack London, and in Charlie Chaplin’s film “The Gold Rush”. The main goldfield was along the south flank of the Klondike River near its confluence with the Yukon River, close to what was to become Dawson city in the Yukon Territory. It also helped to open up the relatively new US possession of Alaska to exploration and settlement, and promoted the discovery of other gold finds.

Persian Empire
During the pre-order period from Launch until November 15th, we are applying a 15% ($195) pre-order sale promotion. The terms of the promotion is that full pre-payment is required and fully non cancellable/non-refundable. This is an extremely expensive piece for us to produce and we are in some senses making them to order, so it is possible that we may make fewer than 95 sets, but definitely not more than 95 sets available for sale to collectors.
The Persians used War Elephants raised from Indian territories under Persian rule. They were trained by their "Mahout” (driver) who rode them into battle directing their movements. Other than the driver, other men armed with javelins and bows would ride in the tower on the back of the Elephant to launch missiles into enemy troops. As they were such large beasts their primary purpose was to strike fear into the enemy soldiers, most of which would never have seen such an animal. The results of using them in battle were mixed as they were difficult to control when panicked and were just as likely to trample friends as well as enemies. At Gaugamela Darius had 15 such elephants which were placed at the center of the Persian line where they made quite an impression on the Macedonians facings them. We have recreated the war elephant with an absolutely superb level of sculpting and incredibly intricate hand painting, particularly that on the ornate blankets and cloths which cover the elephants sides, head, and rear making this a unique and incredibly high quality piece. The depiction this time features 3 Macedonians attacking the elephant with a 4th being trampled under foot. For the Persians, there is a Mahout Driver, and 2 men in the Tower, one fighting and the second a casualty. This is a limited edition Special Collectors Set of only 95 pieces available for customers to purchase worldwide.

Russian T34
By February 1944, the T-34/85 had become a pivotal asset for the Soviet Red Army during World War II. An upgraded version of the earlier T-34, the T-34/85 featured a more powerful 85mm gun, which significantly improved its firepower against German armor. Its enhanced turret design allowed for better crew operation and defensive capabilities. In early 1944, the tank played a critical role in the Soviet offensives, particularly during the battles to liberate Ukraine and push back German forces on the Eastern Front. The combination of its mobility, armor protection, and firepower made the T-34/85 a formidable opponent, contributing to the Red Army's momentum and eventual success in the war. With it's two opening and closing metal hatches, it's of course a natural for new crew figures to come.

Roman - Cohors II Flavia Bessorum
Cohors II Flavia Bessorum was an auxiliary unit of the Roman Empire, likely formed during the early imperial period. Its soldiers were primarily recruited from the Bessorum tribe, located in what is now modern-day Romania. The cohort played a crucial role in the Roman military system, providing essential support in various campaigns across the empire, particularly in the provinces. Active during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, it is known to have been stationed in regions like Britain and Germania, participating in key military operations and contributing to the Romanization of these areas. The cohort’s legacy reflects the broader integration of local populations into the Roman military framework, showcasing the diverse composition of Rome's armed forces.

Ark of the Covenant
The Ark of the Covenant is a most sacred religious relic. Described as a wooden storage chest decorated in solid gold, with an ornamental lid. The Ark is said to contain the Tablets of the Law (The 10 Commandments), by which God delivered the Commandments to Moses at Mount Sinai. As well as containing Aaron's Rod and a pot of Manna.
Legend maintains that the Ark disappeared during the Babylonian sacking of Jerusalem in 586 BC. Archaeologists believe there are no reliable records of the Ark's whereabouts after this date. With places such as Ireland, South Africa, Rome, Ethiopia, and even an American military warehouse being claimed where the Ark can be found.
