The casualty numbers for the French and Indian losses during the battle on Snowshoes have been somewhat elusive.
The numbers entered by Captain D’Hebecourt in his post battle report state that there were 8 indians killed, 17 wounded, and only 3 Canadians wounded. (Information gathered a few months later from French prisoners revealed that the Indians alone had lost 27 killed and wounded).
