Farmhouses and village buildings of lower Normandy are similar to the houses Brittany. Building materials of Granite, Schist and Limestone were readily available from farm fields and local quarries. Most limestone walling was constructed of stone rubble used as found, with dressed stone used for quoins and to frame windows and doors. Our French Café and Apartments represent a typical village building of limestone construction that was updated sometime in the early nineteenth century with a clay tile roof and decorative café front.
