"The very first model issued byBritains in 1893, was a 52mm scalecavalryman, which collectors nowcall the Germanic Life Guard. It camewith a plain cuirass in bare metalwithout a crossbelt painted ontoit. The figure was fixed arm, anda tin sword was inserted into theright hand. In 1894 the officer onthe rearing horse was introduced,and crossbelts were added. To commemorate our 120th anniversary W. Britainhas authorized this special release of the 18931st Life Guards Officer and Trooper which arecast from the original, painted in the colors usedat the time and then tied into classic W. Britainpackaging with a hand drawn period label. Pleasenote though that these figures are solid castand will be clearly marked "2013” to avoid anyconfusion between old and new.
