The famous 11th Hussars or "Cherry Pickers" were organized in 1715, serving as a standalone unit in the British Army until 1969. It is probably most famous for taking part in the Charge of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War and served with distinction in the Napoleonic Wars, as well as World Wars I and II.
