Product Details

This set is in great condition and arrives in its original packaging, however, there is a figure missing from the set.

The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards have retained the Scots Greys tradition that the entire regiment is mounted on grey horses, with the exception of the drum horse, which is black. The famous white bearskin worn by the kettle drummer is now unique in the British Army. It is popularly supposed to have been presented by the Tsar of Russia when he was Colonel-in-Chief of the Greys, but was actually introduced as an experiment at least seven years before his appointment, probably in 1887 and possibly because the mounted drummer had such a cap in the 18th century. To complete the contrast, since the turn of the century the drum horse of the Scots Greys has been a black one. Both traditions have been retained by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
