Product Details

This version has the cradle arm in the just fired position.

The Catpult is a generic term for Torsion Artillery invented by the Greeks and comprised of the Ballista and the Onager. The Ballista is a two torsion spring, two arm throwing engine; which could fire both stone shot and bolts. The Onager was a single torsion spring, single arm throwing engine with a sling; which could throw round shot or pottery jars of flammable material in a high trajectory well suited for siege warfare. Roman catapults were of varying sizes and were generally assembled at the site of the intended siege or as defensive weapons and sited on battlements and therefore had no need for wheels.

Figures sold separately.

Scale 1:30 / 60mm.
