This new 2010 release is a Napoleonic vignette inspired by the painting Gordons and Greys To The Front by Victorian artist Stanley Berkeley (1855-1909). The W. Britain scene depicts the combined charge of the Royal Scots Greys (2nd Royal North British) Dragoons and the 92nd (Gordon) Highlanders against the French infantry of D'Erlon's Corps at the Battle of Waterloo. During the battle, the Royal Scot's Greys were part of the Union Brigade of cavalry under General William Ponsonby positioned along the left flank of the Duke of Wellington's 3rd Line. Directly in front of the Greys was Lt. General Thomas Picton's 5th Infantry Division which included the 92nd Highlanders as part of Sir Denis Pack's 9th Brigade. As the French infantry made its advance, the British heavy cavalry was ordered to attack by the Earl of Uxbridge. As they passed through the British infantry before them, the Royal Scots saw their fellow countrymen, the Gordons, and shouted "Scotland Forever." The cry rallied the men of the 92nd who according to legend grabbed on to the stirrups of the Greys and were carried forward this way into the midst of the battle. More will be added to this new range in 2010.
