BR44032 -- Highlander - 84th Foot Royal Highland Emigrants - 1779-1784 (Walt Keener Memorial Figure)

Walt Keener was the club president of the Michigan Society of Figurine Collectors for many years and also an avid re-enactor in the Royal Highland Emigrants. In his position as club president in the 1970’s he taught little Ricky Walker, age 10, (W.Britain General Manager) and Kenny Osen, age 17, (W. Britain Master Sculptor) everything a kid could have ever wanted to know about toy soldiers – how they were molded, cast, painted, sculpted, displayed etc. And most importantly he imparted to us his love of and passion for these little works of art. Walt passed away suddenly three years ago and we thought this a fitting tribute to an old friend who could always be found with a pipe in his hand and kind word on his lips for Britain’s. We like to say there is a little bit of Walt in everything we do here at W. Britain, so here’s to Walter Keener, 1952-2006.
