You can now enjoy your own special collection of
military figurines with Medieval Warriors.
Experienced collectors will fully appreciate the high quality of the
modeling, both of the warriors themselves and their chargers. These
beautifully made hand-painted 7cm (2 3/4") figures with their realistic
poses, colorful costumes and fine hand-painted details bring to life the
world of the medieval warrior.
Rediscover the Age of Chivalry and of the
Crusades
The military conflicts of the Middle Ages took place in lands as far apart
as Europe, Russia and Central Asia, North Africa, the societies as primitive
as the tribal hordes which swept down from the north and east, and as
sophisticated as the ancient civilizations of China, India and the Arab
world. All are included in the collection.
It was an age of honor, superstition, and violence, an age of conspicuous
extravagance and abject poverty, when mercenaries were liable to change
their loyalties in mid-battle, when the reward of victory was plunder and
the penalty of defeat could be a gruesome death. In such times of
hand-to-hand fighting, a superior weapon made the difference between life
and death. Trace how amour and weaponry improved over the years, and how new
developments changed the course of history.
Imagine the sudden raids on peaceful communities by axe-wielding Barbarians,
the rage of insurrection against tyranny, the hysteria of the Crusades, the
pageantry of victory, the horror of battle. Yet among the squalor and
violence, we find remarkable men of vision, conduct beyond the call of duty
and an esprit de corps among fighting men that we recognize today.
History Brought to Life
In this series you will meet commanders and common soldiers from around the
world: Charlemagne, El Cid, Atilla the Hun, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, and
others closer to home: King Arthur, Strongbow, Robert the Bruce, the Black
Prince, John of Gaunt. Famous and infamous, all played their part in the
merry-go-round of the Middle Ages.
The complete collection consists of 55
figures containing:
• A soldier and a booklet.
